Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District Climate Change Adaptation Planning Workshop

November 19-20, 2020 • Virtual Series
Overview
This workshop series will focus on reviewing the results of habitat and species vulnerability assessments and vegetation distribution modeling in response to climate change, as well as developing adaptation strategies and actions based on the results of our vulnerability assessments. The workshop will include:
  1. A review of the preliminary results of the vulnerability assessments for focal habitats and species and an overview of projected climate-driven changes in vegetation distribution.
  2. An introduction to and exploration of adaptation planning approaches, including presenting case studies and examples.
  3. Developing adaptation strategies and actions to reduce vulnerabilities and/or increase resilience.
  4. Evaluating adaptation actions including implementation feasibility and effectiveness, resource co-benefits and conflicts, and how and when to implement.
